Privacy policy

EasyToolbox is run by Muhammad Abdullah Awais, who is the controller for any personal data processed through this site under the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR. Questions about privacy can be sent to contact@abdullahawais.com.

This site does not collect anything that identifies you. There are no accounts, no contact forms, no newsletter, no analytics and no advertising.

Every tool runs entirely in your browser: the calculators, the word tools and the daily word game. The amounts, letters, guesses and anything else you type are processed on your own device and are never sent to our servers.

The word tools download word list files from this site, just as a page loads its fonts and scripts. Which file is fetched depends only on the word length; the letters you type stay on your device.

The site is served by Vercel Inc., a hosting provider. To deliver a page, its servers receive the technical data every browser sends with a request: the IP address, the address of the page requested, the date and time, and the browser's user agent. Vercel uses this data to deliver the site and to protect it against abuse, and keeps it for a limited period under its own policies.

The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, the legitimate interest in running a secure and working website. Vercel may process this data in the United States; such transfers are covered by the safeguards in Vercel's data processing terms, including the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Three small entries may be kept in your browser's local storage: "theme", which remembers whether you chose the light or dark theme; "language-suggestion-dismissed", which remembers that you closed the suggestion to read a page in another language; and "word-scramble-stats", which holds your statistics for the daily word game: games played, streak, best time and the days you finished. None is a cookie, none is ever sent to us, and none identifies you. The game statistics stay in that browser only, until you clear them. The cookie policy lists all three in detail.

Fonts are served from this site's own domain, so loading a page makes no request to Google or any other font service. Source links on the tool pages lead to the websites they cite, whose own privacy policies apply once you follow them.

You have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable format (Articles 15 to 21 GDPR). Because this site stores nothing about you, most requests will find no data to act on; server logs held by the hosting provider are the exception.

You may also complain to a data protection authority: in the United Kingdom the Information Commissioner's Office, and in the European Union the authority of the country where you live or work.

If analytics, advertising or any other processing is ever added, this policy will be updated before it goes live, and anything that needs your consent will ask for it first.
